I thought it was great! We're planning to take our bikes up ( to Tawas ) within the next 4-5 weeks. Can't wait! Nothing better than vacationing in our own state. "Buy local" is the trend when purchasing items at the store. Why not "Vacation Within" when it comes to taking vacations in Michigan! |

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went up to Manistique and took our dvd's from you. We stopped in the information center on the west side of town to ask how to get to the educational area we had just viewed on one of the dvds. There was a new person there and it was his first day and he knew exactly where it was. That impressed his boss. We went out there and hiked a little. We plan on going back for more sightseeing and hiking. Thanks for the dvds and great ideas where to go. Bruce County will be another place we will try. Keep up the great work. |

My husband and I just love traveling throughout the State of Michigan but haven't traveled much up along Hwy. 23. It has been since 2004 when we went to the Lighthouse Festival. Just like so many people our income hasn't let us travel as much as we would like to. Please send us this information and also on camping too. We just love all the Michigan commercials. Thanks |

Tom, I really enjoyed this weeks show. My wife and I have spent the last 42 years camping in the U.P, and have yet to run out of things to go and see, even if we have seen it before, but you have to be nosey and find these things for yourself. Our usual place to camp is at Munising City Park and we branch out from there. We are tourists, adventures, outdoorsman & Ms.,swimmers, campers, always asking questions of people & just plain nosey to see where the road goes to. |

back now and see other towns in the area. Fayette was just starting
it's renevation stage when we were there. |

Thanks for reminding me about your free DVD's. I always watch your show either on Detroit PBS or the one out of CMU. Luckily we get both channels here. We are very lucky here in Michigan because of shows like yours that show where to go & what you can do when you get there. Some states do not have shows like yours. Thanks again. |

Unfortunatley, I was busy last Saturday, but I do watch the show every weekend and really enjoy it. I also like the links to go to to get more information on where you visited that episode; hotels and camping, places to get a bite to eat, and, most important, where to paddle your canoe. Keep up the good work. Any word on when you will visit Isle Royale? Thanks, Paul |

I appreciate you offering the Free DVD of Autumn Splender. Unfortunately for me, I am a nurse that works the afternoon shift and have rare opportunities to view your show.
I so appreciate you guys for creating Great Getaways and offering us Michiganders the truly great things to see in Michigan and surrounding areas.
I hope to get the chance yet this Fall to enjoy my own "Autumn Splender", so your DVD will give me some great places to consider seeing.
Thanks again for the continued great work and keep it up. |

I have never seen a show that I have not liked on Great Getaways. I always love the fall colors in our state of Michigan. I think that it is sometimes hard for other states to top our colors. Great show. |

Tom,
Always excellent. Your shows are informative,
relaxing to watch and cover areas that are close enough for us to affordably visit. Still one of my all time favorite TV shows and explains why
PBS is the best network broadcasting. |

Daniel Meggison - Ypsilanti, MI
It was one of the most interesting, informative and beautiful shows of Michigan I have seen. I was born in this state and lived here all but 3 years of my life and I am still amazed by the beautiful places that Michigan has to offer. As many times as I have been up north and been through the towns I don't think of the behind the scenes around the towns. Shows like PBS offers lets us in on the beautiful land and scenery around us that we can visit for little or no cost and you can enjoy it with your family or friends. Thank you Great Getaways and PBS. |

I loved this week's show - my husband and I really like to hike and canoe, so we got some new ideas about where to go. We also really like your Bruce Peninsula episodes as well. We're in our mid-30s with no kids, so it's nice that your show covers all kinds of activities, for all demographics, and income levels. Thanks! |

Your pictures are great, so nice to see spots in Michigan that I have been to. I frequent the South Branch Trail camp, for trail riding. Its just a couple of hours from Caro. To bad our state doesn't open up some of the State Land for trail riding to keep business in our county. It would sure help Michigan also. Keep up the good work. |

I liked it because the content was high on the subjects; rivers, lakes, colors, lighthouse, etc., and low on fishing and hunting, ie, on the scenry a non-hunting and non-fishing traveler would see. Thank you. |
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 4:33 PM
Dale Eathorne - Burton, MI
The show moved me so much, that very weekend, I took my whole family to visit the Tawas area. Unfortunely I didn't find all the places mentioned in the show partly because I didn't have the addresses. Next time, I'll be more knowledgable about where everything is located. |

In addition,a also shown were some areas that we haven't seen before and would like to visit. The visitor areas shown are the result of vision, planning, and much cooperative effort on the part of many individuals and organizations. Thank you. |
