Outstanding!! Love to see new places to visit so close to home. We travel with an RV so fuel prices and distance are always on our mine. Thanks to your show, we have discovered many neat things to visit right here in Michigan as well as other places near by. Thanks again for a GREAT family show. We would also be intrested in the Bruce Penninsula travel planer. We love to visit light houses and to see nature in any form. Thanks once again!!!

My wife and I really enjoyed this show. It has been about 4 years since we have been near Tawas, but we are now planning a trip this summer. I am hoping my wife can use her electric wheel chair on the bike path. Thank you for all your programs.

Mike Wade - Macomb, MI

Please: the show on 5/9 showed a picture of a 6 person cabin with a wooden porch and wooden adirondac chairs right on the beach in tawas - I want rental info on that but can't find it on this web site. Thanks

Hi Mike,
I think the cabin you are talking about is the "camper cabin" located in the Tawas Point State Park.
Here is their website. If you click on "make a reservation" you should be able to find the info you are looking for. I hope that helps.
Thanks for watching,
Bryan McGuire

Hello, I was really excited to watch this weekend's new episode of your trip to the Tawas City area.  While typically staying in Oscoda, my family/I have spent many hours shopping at Tawas City too.  Thanks to you, we just realized that there is more to this great tourist attraction due to the renovations taking place.  For example, the bike paths and HPC's looked like fun.  Also, we didn't realize that the corner store sold award-winning smoked fish and jerky.  You can bet we'll get some next time!  Lastly, I will look forward to walking up the light house, although the narrow stairs/height could present challenges! I can't wait to get the DVD!
Keep up the great work.

Ardys Diefenbach - Manton, MI

We have been through Manistique several times and built on our fast flowing creek visible from our home a lighthouse. It is a scale model of the Manistique one at 4 feet  high on 32 inch cement blocks, with a solar light on top. The canoe trip sounds like one we would like to try. Thanks for DVD

Monday, May 18, 2009 1:35 PM
Valerie McColl - Portage, MI

It was awesome. The way the economy is it is too expensive for most people to travel out of state and this show really showcased the beauty and atmosphere of an affordable vacation right here in MI.

Hello Tom,
I really enjoyed your wildlife viewing trip to Oscoda, my favorite "hop, skip and a jump" destination.  I especially liked the breathtaking shot of the eagles' nest, seeing an adult come in to feed his/her three young a fish!! I have fished Foot Pond before but didn't realize the history behind the Trumpeter Swans. We will be up in Oscoda for their annual "Art on the Beach" event taking place the last weekend in June (27 & 28).  There will be vendors set up in town on the beach of Lake Huron selling hand-made arts and crafts for sale.  Hope to see you there!!

The show was good this week and every week. It doesn't get any better than the great lakes area out of doors.

Saturday, June 13, 2009 5:07 PM
Lora Eckert - Garden City, MI

It was just beautiful, when our kids were young we use to camp at alot of the State parks along lake Huron, we forgot how wonderful it was, and would like to plan a trip for just my husband and I to take early this fall and I think this will be just perfect. Our boys have all grown and moved out except our youngest who is almost 20. Our favorite camp ground was always Hoeft State park.

Great show, I have always driven through Oscoda but never knew what Ii had for rustic options. Proof that an intimate experience in nature is only about an hour away rather than having to head all the way to the u.p. Thank You

We visited the Oscoda area several years ago and were so pleased to see some of the spots we enjoyed so much....it is a beautiful drive following the Au Sable River and I suspect we might have to do it again...this time in the spring.  Last time we traveled it in the fall....lovely, lovely place.

Phil Lawrence - Brighton, MI

I must watch more often. The Rifle River show was excellent. Over the years I just drive by that area. Seeing how it is much closer to home it looks like a great place to spend some time and learn the area. I had just come in from mowing the yard and flipped on TV to take a break. Your show was on and looked very interesting - hiking, fishing, etc. You introduced me to this area and now I must visit. Thank you.

I thought it was very relaxing, it was wonderful, and it sure makes you glad if you're one of the lucky people that get to live in this great state. I felt as if I was there right along side of you.

Great show. Shows that you can get a nice getaway in Michigan on the east side of the state. I used to live in East Tawas and was actually unaware of the opportunities that the Rifle River area provides.....This show was fantastic and emphasized my favorite season to travel, the fall.  Fewer people and just a great color experience.

The Rifle River Recreation Area is incredibly beautiful; however, I have never had the good fortune of visiting that area of Michigan.  The solitude of the woods, wild animals and birds singing is so relaxing and the scenery is incredible.  I hope to visit this area soon.

I thought it was very well done and thorough. I have never been here and certainly was very interested and convinced to give it a try. The presentation was informative and clear. Had alot of interesting tid-bits and clear all questions along the way. I must say, Keep up the good work that is what this is all about when you see something of real interest.

It was a great show. I am thinking of taking my wife canoeing up there (Rifle River) in the fall. She is handicapped and can't walk very far. She got excited when they mentioned that the main campground was handicap accessible. Thank you

Tom, our family has always enjoyed watching your show to learn about the many places to visit and the many resources available in the Great State of Michgian. Your shows are always a learning experience. Just started a new adventure called GeoCaching. There are so many caches hiden in so many interesting places in Michigan. If you have never tried it you might want to look into it and give it a try. Keep up the excellent shows and again, Thank you for having such a quality show for all to learn about the many great things to see and do in Michigan.

What I enjoyed about the Rifle River show was the interaction between host and guests of the park. Also, the  way the camera man captured the scenery. This as well as other shows, makes the viewer feel they are there in person. I've been a long time viewer and look forward to the shows airing every Saturday morning as it allows me to escape for a half hour. Thank you and keep up the good work.

My son and I have been looking for a lake we can just go fishing on without all the boats-ect--the fact that you can't use motors of any kind really made our day--we want to go there and fish and it isn't that far away--thank you for giving us that info--also we watched most of the show and really enjoyed it--might be a place to go camping--Overall it was informative and enjoyable!!
