Frankenmuth is a family-friendly town in every way. Many of the attractions are also hands-on opportunities for kids to learn. But don’t tell them that, especially on a visit to Grandpa Tiny’s Farm. Remember our visit with Dorothy Zehnder at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant? William “Tiny” Zehnder was her husband. He passed away in 2006, but his legacy lives on at Grandpa Tiny’s Farm. This is a historical working farm where kids get up close and personal with the livestock.
When the chores are done, it’s time for learning at the historic Hart Schoolhouse. This one-room school house was used in the mid 1800s and has been lovingly restored. After school it’s time to go to Grandma’s Haus to see what’s cooking in her oven. With any luck, you’ll find cookies and milk.
Frankenmuth is a year-round destination. And when you come, there are some fabulous places to stay. Continuing their commitment to great family entertainment and gracious Bavarian hospitality, Zehnder’s offers 12 months of poolside fun at Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel and Waterpark. With more than 30,000 square feet of pools and waterslides, Splash Village makes a perfect getaway winter or summer. From relaxing hot tubs to the Perilous Plunge four-story tube slides, everyone can choose their own brand of fun.
