A county-owned public-use airport located five miles northeast of the central business district of Houghton Lake. It was known as Roscommon County Airport until 2005, when it was named to honor Terry Blodgett, the airport's manager from 1987 until his death in 2004, and his father Francis Blodgett, airport manager from 1959 to 1981.

Here two-track, twisty single-track, and soggy mud bogs welcome dirt bikes, quads and four-wheelers. The nearly 60 miles of recreational trails attract visitors from miles away and all walks of life.

It just wouldn’t be fall without a trip to a pumpkin patch. So our next stop is at Bart's Fruit Market. Bart's is a small produce market featuring locally grown fruits and vegetables, plus flowers and pumpkins. Miss Jeanne's Pumpkin Patch has all your needs for fall decorating. Cornstalks, Straw, Mums, Gourds and over 15 varieties of different color pumpkins. Every October come for Bart's annual fall festival with pumpkins, a cornstalk maze, bounce houses, games, face painting, pony rides, cider, donuts and all kinds of fall fun.

Wellington Farm USA

A historical, environmental, educational complex set on 60 acres. A working replica of a typical mid-American farmstead during the 1930s. Many farming activities are conducted daily using vintage equipment, tools and practices. Interpreters throughout the park demonstrate a lifestyle typical of the Great Depression. They also demonstrate many of the crafts common to the 1930s. Guided tours through history for all visitors are offered as well as educational programs for school groups and craft classes in Crafters Alley. In addition to demonstrating a life style typical of the Great Depression, Wellington Farm offers an excellent location for special events such as weddings, reunions, picnics and organizational meetings.

South Higgins Lake State Park, situated on 1 mile of shoreline along Higgins Lake, boasts one of the largest Michigan state park campgrounds, a popular boat launch and a popular day-use area. Marl Lake, a considerably smaller, shallower and less developed lake, is located on the southern side of the park across County Road 100 and is surrounded by 5.5 miles of wooded trails.
The park features 5.5 miles of looped trails that traverse through small wetlands, hardwood forests (birch, hemlock and oak) and beautiful, quiet Marl Lake. The trail offers spur trails to allow users to hike 2 miles (Green Loop A), 3.5 miles (Red Loop B) or complete the entire trail for 5.5 miles (Blue Loop C). The trail also connects to Markey Township Park, featuring a fitness trail, a dog park and a large playground area, via Green Loop A. Hunting is permitted in this area during all seasons, so guests should wear appropriate, high-visibility clothing.

Fishing Houghton Lake

Size: 20,044 Acres
Michigan's largest inland lake covering 22,000 acres. The lake offers great fishing possibilities. Here you will find good fishing possibilities for walleye, pike, bass and bluegill. There are seven access sites strategically located around the lake.
