Owen Sound

Located in Grey County, south of Ontario's Bruce Peninsula, Owen Sound is a vibrant community, blending both cultural and natural attractions. Here you'll find lush valleys, rugged limestone cliffs, miles of beautiful shoreline and the clear blue water of _ Georgian Bay. This thriving Ontario city also has been selected as one of Canada's cultural capitals. Visitors to the area will find no shortage of activities and things to do, ranging from boating, fishing, and hiking to theater, art galleries, and fine dining.

Owen Sound Harbor was, in days past, known as one of the finest harbors on the Great Lakes, and the city was a very important meeting point of rail and boat, the two principal methods of transportation in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. While the harbor still retains some of its commercial uses, today it is best enjoyed as a recreational haven. The harbor features a fully equipped marina and two public boat launches, the most boat launches on the entire Great Lakes system. Whether as an outlet for commercial ventures or recreational activities, Owen Sound harbor is a source of great pride to the city's residents.
